Choć w refrenie Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, czyli Doja Cat śpiewa „pozwól mi być Twoją kobietą” tudzież „mogę być Twoją kobietą” piosenka bynajmniej nie traktuje o poszukiwaniu mężczyzny (zresztą Doja Cat jest biseksualna).
„Woman” to pochwała kobiecości, hymn silnych kobiet walczących o swoje prawa. Doja Cat śpiewa, że może być kim chce… nawet CEO wielkiej firmy tak jak Rihanna.
Klip nawiązuje do afrykańskich korzeni raperki, której ojciec urodził się w RPA. Jednym z producentów numeru jest natomiast twórca z Malawi, Blage. Pomagał mu także całkiem przez nas lubiany Jidenna (ten od numeru „Classic Man”)
