„Vision of Love”. Carey przez kilkadziesiąt kolejnych lat dorobiła się wielu innych hitów, ale do tego mam zdecydowanie największy sentyment, i chyba nie tylko ja. Łącząca pop i r&b kompozycja porusza mnie od lat. A śpiewająca pełną piersią Mariah wciąż robi ogromne wrażenie, wywołując ciarki na mojej skórze. To piękna, niewinna miłosna piosenka, w której artystka łączy swoją wizję idealnej miłości z rzeczywistością.
Przebój “Vision of Love” Mariah napisała mając siedemnaście lat. Pracowała wówczas jako kelnerka, a po godzinach tworzyła muzykę z pomocą Bena Marguilesa. Utwór wybrany został na pierwszy singiel zwiastujący album „Mariah Carey”. Premiera kompozycji odbyła się w połowie maja 1990 roku. Kawałek dotarł na szczyty list przebojów w takich krajach jak USA, Kanada i Nowa Zelandia. W Polsce na Liście Przebojów Programu Trzeciego był 11.
„Vision of Love” przyniosło Mariah nagrodę Grammy w kategorii Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Artystka pokonała wówczas takie wokalistki jak między innymi Whitney Houston („I’m Your Baby Tonight”) i Sinead O’Connor („Nothing Compares 2 U”).
