Swój nowy wówczas album „The Heat” Toni zapowiadała singlem „He Wasn’t Man Enough”. Lepszego reprezentanta tego ognistego wydawnictwa wymarzyć sobie nie mogła. Rhythm’and’bluesowe, lecz zerkające także na nieoczywisty, niebanalny bujający pop nagranie pokazywało fanom nowy, odświeżony i bardziej seksowny wizerunek Braxton, która w 2000 z powodzeniem konkurować mogła z Destiny’s Child, Aaliyah czy debiutującymi Kelis i P!nk.
Śmielej sięgające po rozrywkowe r&b nagranie dotarło do 2. miejsca na Billboard Hot 100, a sporym przebojem okazało się być… w Polsce. Piosenka przyniosła Braxton czwartą nagrodę Grammy w kategorii Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Tym razem w tyle zostały m.in. Erykah Badu i jej “Bag Lady” oraz Aaliyah z utworem “Try Again”.
